Iowa State is now opening the 2020 football season at TCU, according to the new Big 12 Conference schedule released Wednesday. The nine-game slate includes five games at home and four on the road.

The Cyclones’ nonconference game will be played Sept. 19 against an opponent yet to be announced.

The Big 12 announced Tuesday night it was going ahead with plans to play a fall season. The Big Ten Conference and Pac-12 Conference said earlier Tuesday they planned to next play in the spring of 2021.

After the road trio to Fort Worth, Iowa State hosts league favorite Oklahoma on Oct. 3 and Texas Tech on Oct. 10. The Cyclones have the first of their two open Saturdays on Oct. 17, then return with consecutive road games against Oklahoma State and Kansas.

On Nov. 7, Iowa State hosts Baylor, then is off Nov. 14., After that, the closing three games are against Kansas State, at Texas and a home date Dec. 5 with West Virginia.

The Big 12 Championship Game is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 12. All nonconference games must be completed before Sept. 26, according to the Big 12 press release.

Stadium capacities will be determined by each school.
