Perry Swim hosts Fort Dodge for the first time in 20 years

Fort Dodge Swim was in Perry on Thursday, Sept. 20 for a Bluejays home meet. The final score between the two teams turned out to be 128 for Fort Dodge and 30 for Perry.

The foursome of Avery Miner, Dannah Karolus, Sarah Vaughn, and Abby Herman placed second in the 200 Medley Relay with a total time of 2:21.24. Dannah Karolus achieved an individual third place ranking in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:18.77 while Abby Herman also came in third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:51.14.

In the 50 Freestyle Perry saw Amanda Holwegner take fourth with a time of 32.03 while also coming out of the meet with a third place win in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:10.45. Sara Vaughn competed in the 500 Freestyle and came out in second place while finishing in 6:21.84. Vaughn also placed third indivudally in the 100 Backstroke and racked up a time of 1:17.14.

Another Perry relay team placed second once again, this time in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Abby Herman, Avery Miner, Amanda Holwegner, and Dannah Karolus finished with a time of 1:58.90. The only other relay team to compete from Perry also placed second in the 400 Freestyle Relay. This time it was elay Abby Herman, Avery Miner, Sarah Vaughn, and Dannah Karolus who finished with a total time of 4:28.72.

The next Perry Swim meet will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Newton YMCA.
