Perry and W-G Cross Country meet up to run in ADM Invitational
Two area cross country teams were in Adel on Monday, Sept. 17 for the ADM Invitational meet. Perry and Woodward-Granger competed against several other teams to place at various different numbers. W-G Girl’s Cross Country placed fifth out of seven other teams and Perry Girl’s placed fourth. W-G Boy’s came in ninth out of ten other teams and Perry came in seventh.
The first Jayette runner to finish from her team was Jaylene Karolus who came in eighth with a time of 22:44 followed by teammate Kailey Crawford at 20th with a time of 25:15. Molly Lutmer finished 26th in 26:45 preceding Kennedy Tunink at 33rd in 27:57. Next to finish from the Perry Girl’s team was Chris Gomez who came in 36th with a time of 28:49 followed by Hannah Peterson in 40th place with a time of 30:36 and Angela Hernandez at 42nd with a time of 31:24.
Woodward-Granger was close to follow their competitors with the first Hawk to finish from the girls team being Josie Noland at 17th in 24:54. Close behind was Ava Petersen as the 25th runner overall to cross the finish line in 26:39. Up next was Posey Robinson at 27th in 26:59 preceding Natalie Helbling at 28th in 27:21. Chloe David placed 34th with a time of 27:58 followed by Mackenzie Dresback in 41st with a time of 30:54 and Bella Milosevich in 43rd with a time of 31:52.
The Varsity Boy’s competition saw a few more teams to go up against, but stayed close in rank. From Perry, Mohamed Abdelnabi placed 25th overall with a time of 20:14 with Eduardo Sanchez following close behind at 31st place in 20:46. The 33rd runner to finish overall was Mario Cruz with a time of 20:50 and Johnathan Castro was 39th in 21:12. Next to finish was Hayden McFarland at 52nd with a time of 22:17 followed by Eli Noble at 55th with a time of 22:24 and Ethan Miller at 59th in 23:18.
Alec Bice was the first Hawk to finish coming in at 23rd overall with a time of 19:59. Dylan Steele placed 35th with a time of 21 minutes with Xavier Ibarra coming in at 51st with a time of 22:12. The 56th runner to cross the finish line was Noah Gleason with a time of 22:51 and 60th place went to Kurt Crouse with a time of 24:33. Alex Foster finished in 25:08 and placed 62nd.
Perry Cross Country has a very short break before their next invitational on Thursday, Sept. 20 at AC-GC. The Hawks will also compete in another meet on Thursday, Sept. 20 at Roland-Story.
