The Jayette netters keep moving along in their 2018 season with their most recent match up against Ballard. Perry took on their latest opponent at home on Tuesday, Sept. 11, but fell short in three sets, 25-19, 25-19, and 25-10.

As the margin of scores keeps improving for this young team so does the skill level. Sophomore Kacy Nevitt came out of the match with eight kills and one dig. Another underclassman, Jasmine Shriver had two kills along with senior Gabby West who also came in with two kills. Magley Orellana led the team in digs by ending the match with a total of nine.

Quinn Whiton saw one kill and six attack attempts along with one dig of her own. Mackenzie Ayers and Ainsley Marburger were the other two Jayettes to come in with one dig a piece while Ayers had seven attack attempts and Marburger had nine.

Perry volleyball was not without it’s successful aces on Tuesday with one coming from Cerna Jenisis, one from Ayers, one from Marburger, and one from Nevitt.

Overall the team had a total of 15 kills, 54 attack attempts, 14 assists and 12 digs.

The Jayettes have a week long break before heading into their next match at Bondurant-Farrar. Their soon-to-be opponent is 9-1. The match will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
