W-G sweeps Ogden in first away game of the season

The Hawks football team keeps winning as many saw on Friday, Aug. 31. W-G traveled to Ogden and swept the competition coming out 46-7. Ending the game with a total of 420 yards on 55 carries, one of the key players of the game came out to be Keith Braunschweig who went 6-11-2 for 105 yards. Braunschweig also contributed one of the evenings touchdowns.

Bryce Achenbach also continued his victorious run early in this season with four solo tackles, six tackle assists and 74 receiving yards against Ogden. Achenbach was also responsible for two interceptions which resulted in 45 return yards. Reese Jamison came through with one of his own interceptions which resulted in 48 return yards.

Along with Achenbach’s skill on both sides of the play, Gabe Yingst showed up for the offensive side with 18 rushing points, and his teammates Jamison, Tate Lettow, and Cade Polch each ended with six total points. Pacey Moats contributed eight more points before the game was over and Matt Hansen was responsible for the other two.

After a win like that and coming off of a holiday weekend, the Hawks are ready to get back on their own field to take on South Hamilton this Friday, Sept. 7. South Hamilton is currently at 2-0 overall just like W-G, but this will be the first time they hit the road this season.
