A close scoreless ball game turned in the late innings when the host Perry Jayettes (18-11, 3-8) gave up five runs in a conference loss against the Carlisle Wildcats (26-6 ,10-1) .

On June 27, the Jayettes tried their hardest to keep the Raccoon River Conference leaders - the Wildcats - from sweeping the season series.

For the first four innings, the Jayettes kept the Wildcats scoreless. Unfortunately for the home team, the visitors returned the favor as they kept the host scoreless.

In the fifth, the Wildcats clawed their way to a one run lead. They followed it with a three run sixth and extended their lead to 5-0 with a seventh inning run.

The Jayettes couldn’t find any answers against the opposing pitcher who gave up a double to Alyssa Kruger for the one hit performance.

Jayette Emma Olejniczak pitched all seven innings, striking-out seven and walking four.

The team will look to earn a win against the visiting Des Moines North Polar Bears on June 28.

Game pictures will be posted soon.
