Bluejays fall to Wildcats
After taking a 1-0 early lead, the Perry Bluejays (8-16, 4-7) gave up seven straight runs in a home loss to the visiting Carlisle Wildcats (20-5, 8-1).
On June 27, the Bluejays looked to avoid a consecutive loss to the Wildcats after dropping game one, 10-3, on June 6.
In the first inning, the home team struck first with one run, which like the first time these two teams faced-off, Perry held the early 1-0 lead.
Unfortunately for the Bluejays, the Wildcats played out the rest of the game just like the first as they took the lead with three runs in the first, one in the fourth and three more in the sixth for the 7-1 advantage.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Bluejays managed another run but the deficit was too much to overcome.
Perry’s pitching held a good hitting Wildcat team to just eight hits in 31 at bats for a well below season average of .258.
The Bluejays will be off until Wednesday when they face the host Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays.
The stats will be updated as it becomes available.
The game pictures will be posted soon.
