The Perry Jayettes (15-9, 2-6) suffered a lopsided loss against the host Winterset Huskies (22-5, 9-1).

It was a tough loss for the road team who had their five game winning streak after a 10-0 defeat versus conference foe the Huskies.

Jayette starting pitcher Sidney Vancil took the reigns after usual starter Emma Olejniczak was scratched with an undisclosed injury.

Vancil pitched 5 2/3 innings, walking five and striking out one. She gave up 10 runs- seven earned- off 15 hits.

The Huskies jumped out early with a run in the first, two in the second, one in the third and three in the fourth. After a scoreless fifth, the home team delivered three more runs, which ended the game in six innings.

At the plate, Johanna Diw and Maddie West provided the only Perry offense with a hit a piece.

The team will look to bounce back tonight against the visiting Clarke Osceola Indians.
