Hawks squeak out tight ball game

The Woodward-Granger Hawks (10-6, 9-4) squeaked out a 2-0 conference win against rival the Ogden Bulldogs (10-8, 4-5).

On June 20, the Hawks needed just two runs versus the visiting Bulldogs after W-G’s starting pitcher Cole Theisen tossed a complete game four hit shutout.

Theisen kept the road team at bay all evening as he struck out four and walked none for his second win this season. He was responsible for one of the team’s RBIs.

At the plate,Marcus McConahay led the team with two hits in three at bats a run scored and two stolen bases. Race Brant went 1 for 3 with a stolen base and Jordan Pierce scored a run and stole a base.

Up next the Hawks travel to Des Moines this Tuesday to take on the Lions.
