Hawks chew up Bulldogs

The Woodward-Granger Hawks softball team ( 16-5, 9-0) continued their undefeated conference win streak with an 8-4 victory against the visiting Ogden Bulldogs (7-10, 3-6).

On June 20, the Hawks erased a two run deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning with six runs to take a four run lead and the eventual win.

As a team the Hawks batted 7 for 26 for eight runs including a double, and a homerun. The drew two walks and has two stolen bases.

Bree Lesch, Maggi Mallon, Kendra Husmann, and Riley Jamison each contributed an RBI. Miranda Aunspach, Meagan Bandstra, and Carli Major had a hit each.

Starting pitcher Dalaney Bice got it done on the mound with three strike-outs, no walks, while giving up four runs- three earned- off seven hits in a complete game win. She also tagged the Bulldogs for a two run homer.

Tonight the Hawks travel to Des Moines for a double header match versus the Lions.
