A seven inning contest quickly lasted five when the visiting Hawks tagged the Cardinals for 10 runs in the fifth for a 12-0 conference win.

On June 14, the W-G Hawks (11-5, 6-0) softball team shutout rivals the Earlham Cardinals (6-10, 2-5) and continued their undefeated season in the West Central Conference.

It was a close 2-0 affair through four innings until the road team scored 10 straight runs that killed any hope on a home team’s comeback.

Hawks starting pitcher Riley Jamison was nearly perfect allowing no runs on two hits and striking-out three. She also helped her cause with a 2 for 3 performance with a home run, five RBIs and a run scored.

Miranda Aunspach led all hitters with three hits on four at bats. She drove in two and scored a run. Bree Lesch, Maggi Mallon, and Carli Major belted two hits each and combined for two RBIs.

Up next the team welcomes the Panorama Panthers for a June 16 double header.
