Hawks ground Cardinals

The Hawks baseball team pounced on the host team Cardinals early and often to win another confernce bout 16-0.

A scheduled seven inning affair on June 14, lasted just four when the W-G Hawks (7-5, 6-2) jumped to an early 12 run lead after two innings against the Earlham Cardinals (7-6, 6-3).

In the fourth, the road team crossed the plate another four times for a commanding 16-0 lead and the eventual victory.

Hawks starting pitcher Cole Theisen was nearly perfect. He shutout the Cardinals on two hits, he gave up a walk and fanned six for his first win this season. He also contributed a hit.

At the plate, Race Brant led all hitters with a 3 for 4 evening. He drove in a run, scored four runs, and had three stolen bases.

Marcus McConahay, Brady Aunspach, Reese Jamison, Auston Scharlau, and Matt Buch recorded two hits each for a combined 11 RBIs.

Up next the team plays a double header on June 16, against the visiting Panorama Panthers.
