The Jayettes suffered a 7-2 conference lost against the host team Wildcats. The home team capitalized early with five runs in the first three innings and then extended their lead in the fourth with another two runs.

At Monday’s road contest, the Perry Jayettes (5-5, 1-3) were held scoreless through six innings by the Carlisle Wildcats (8-5, 4-0).

“[It] just wasn’t our night,” Perry’s head coach Tina Kenney said.

Starting pitcher Emma Olejniczak was tagged for just one earned run after the team committed a season high five errors. She finished the game giving up just two hits with seven strike-outs while walking five.

In the top of the ninth, the road team finally erased the goose. Rachel Kinney got things started with a single. Sidney Vancil then drew a walk and Maddie West reached on an error. Maddy Jans brought her teammates home with a two run RBI double.

The team is back in action this Tuesday when they host the Boone Toreadors.
