Jayettes scratched by Tigers

The Jayettes bats were unable to counter the Tigers pitching as they fall 2-0 to their conference rivals.

This Tuesday, the Perry Jayettes (2-3, 0-2) traveled a quick distance to Adel to face-off against the undefeated ADM Tigers (5-0, 2-0).

The road team kept it close allowing only one run on one hit through the first four innings.

Jayette pitcher Emma Olejniczak started her fifth game and did her best to quell any Tiger run. She fanned 10 batters, and walked three.

On the other side, the road team’s offense just couldn’t get it done. The team was unable to cross home plate and managed just one run on a Maddie West single.

The Tigers’ offense wasn’t overwhelming as they managed just those two runs on two hits. It was all they would need to snatch the conference victory.

After belting 23 runs for a 2-0 start, the Jayettes have now lost three straight and have combined for just five runs while giving up 15 runs.

The team will look to get back on track on Wednesday when they welcome the Carroll Tigers. The following day they host the Boone Toreadors.

Their long week ends this Saturday when they host several schools in the Varsity Tournament.
