Did You Know… where this photo was taken? If you follow my articles, you will remember this photo. I have had several people ask me for a better explanation. This is the Peoples National Bank, located on the North-East corner of 2nd And Willis. Yes, that is Mrs. Councils Popcorn stand in the picture. The bank closed in 1925 in the Great Depression. Following the closing, the clock was sold and moved across the street to the west. The Peoples National Bank building, by then called Woolworths, was destroyed in a fire in 1945, but the popcorn stand survived and remained in that location. The clock found its new home on the Northwest corner of 2nd and Willis. This photo is of the clock in its original location.
