Perry CSD Veterans Day program to be observed in non-traditional manner

Submitted by Perry CSD
Local veterans honor the flag during the 2019 Perry Community School District Veterans Day program.

The annual Perry Community School District Veterans Day program began with the Social Studies Department World War II Panel in 1989. It expanded into the current program in 1998 to fill a community void.

This year, due to special conditions, the day will be observed in a non-traditional manner respecting the health and well-being of our community's veterans and residents who annually attend.

This year’s observation organized by the Perry School Foundation will consist of the following:

  • Yard Signs Honoring Veterans
    • Funded by the Perry Community School District
  • Veterans Hats
    • Donated by TC&B
  • Band of Brothers & Sisters Video
    • Accessible at www.perry.k12.ia.us
  • KDLS Public Service Announcements
    • "On This Veterans Day..." (Community Members)
    • "A Veteran Is..." (Bluejay Congress and Students)
    • "Why I Served..." (Community Veterans)

Veterans requesting hats and yard signs contact:

  • Linda Andorf (515-465-5803 or 515-681-0162)
  • Linda Kaufman (515-321-2536)
