Perry Police Reports: Sept. 16-22

It should be noted a criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

9-16-18

A 60 year old female Perry resident was arrested and charged with simple assault and dependant adult abuse.

A Dawson resident brought a Great Western Bank debit card found in the 1100 block of 141st Street into the station. Card was logged into evidence.

A hit and run accident was reported in the 1300 block of 141st Street.

A neon yellow bicycle was reported stolen in the 1900 block of 16th Street.

9-17-18

A small black and white stray cat was brought into the station and taken to the pound.

A Perry resident reported stolen property in the vicinity of 16th and Marengo. Fork from a skid loader were gone.

Loud music was reported in the 800 block of 1st Avenue. Officers spoke with resident and advised them to turn the music down.

A Perry resident reported a found syringe in the vicinity of 17th and Otley. Officers picked up syringe, transported it to the police department and placed it into a sharps container.

9-18-18

An 18 year old male Perry resident was arrested and charged with driving under suspension.

Destruction of property was reported in the 1200 block of 18th Street and a case was started for criminal mischief.

A light white/tan husky dog was found in the 1100 block of 1st Avenue. Dog was transported to the pound.

A Perry resident reported another found syringe in the vicinity of 17th and Otley. Officers picked up syringe, transported it to the police department and placed it into a sharps container.

9-19-18

A 43 year old male Perry resident was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear, original charge driving while suspended.

A brown Pitbull type dog with blue collar was running at large in the area of 8th and Iowa Streets. Officers were unable to locate dog.

A Perry resident reported a lost gray female cat from the 400 block of Willis Avenue.

A Perry resident reported barking dogs in the 1800 block of Evelyn. Officers were unable to make contact with owners and left business card to call the PD.

9-20-18

An Altoona resident was arrested and charged with public intoxication in the 2000 block of Willis Avenue.

A cell phone found in the 1100 block of 141st Street was turned in to the police department. Later phone was picked up at PD by owner.

9-21-18

A Kentucky resident reported someone digging through the garbage at Weise Park.

A 41 year old male Saint Cloud, Florida resident was arrested and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and interference with official acts.

A Bouton resident reported a small black and brown dog running loose in the area of 8th and Willis. Officers were unable to locate the dog.

A two vehicle accident was reported in the 1600 block of Estella Street. One driver was cited for failure to stop in safe sure distance.

A 29 year old male Castalia, Iowa resident was arrested in the 1200 block of Highway 141 and charged with driving while suspended, OWI 3rd, possession of marijuana, no insurance and violation of instruction permit.

9-22-18

A 21 year old female Iowa City resident was arrested and charged with driving under suspension following a traffic stop near 2nd and Paul Streets.

A Perry resident advised he found a bicycle in the 1200 block of Lucinda. Officers took the bike to the shed.

A 46 year old male Perry resident was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault in the 1900 block of 5th Street.
