Fareway round-up raises over $1,000 for Relay for Life

Fareway customers rounded up at the registers from Sept. 10 through Sept. 15, raising $1,012.72 for Dallas County Relay for Life.

Fareway Store Manager Travis Landgrebe presented a check on Friday, Sept. 21 to members of Team Bookworm, Kathy Miller and Marlene Johnson.

The next fundraiser will be the annual Flush Out Cancer event. The traveling purple toilets will be back and making the rounds around area yards.

Donations can be made to help prevent and remove toilets from being placed in your yard. Toilet insurance is $30, $20 will remove the toilet and send it to a friend and $10 will remove the toilet.

Contact Gary Iles at 515-360-4686 or Tammy Wallace at 515-201-1033 when you are ready for removal or to send it to a friend. Proceeds will benefit the Relay for Life of Northern Dallas County.

The Relay for Life event will be held from 4-9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Perry High School track.
