Perry High School cheerleaders bring homecoming spirit to local businesses

Perry High School cheerleaders were busy painting windows of Perry businesses on 2nd Street and beyond on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The windows featured stars, planets, aliens, rocket ships and more to go along with the “Bluejays are out of this world” homecoming theme.

The 2018 homecoming festivities will kick off on Monday, Sept. 10 with dress up days throughout the week. Perry High School students will be out and about during the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 12 for the annual Volunteer Day.

Later that day, the Perry Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a parade. Line-up will be at 5:30 p.m. in the high school parking lot. The parade will start at 6 p.m., followed by a grill out at Raccoon Valley Bank.

The coronation ceremony will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13 in the high school gym, followed by a bonfire. Check out the students named to the homecoming court at www.theperrychief.com.

Game Day and a homecoming dance will be held on Friday, Sept. 14.

The Bluejays will also take on the North Polk Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Dewey Field.
