PERRY - Dallas County Hospital is excited to announce 3D Mammography is now available. Dallas County Hospital’s mission is to improve the health of the people we serve. Our commitment to this mission evolves with technology and continued vision to provide quality, state-of-the-art healthcare right here in our community to allow patients the opportunity and comfort in being close to home.

Mammograms are used as a screening tool to detect early stages of breast cancer in women. Conventional two-dimensional digital mammography is still an advanced form of breast imaging; however, 3D mammography allows radiologists to see breast tissue in greater detail resulting in improved cancer detection in all breast density types. Where a small tumor may have been undetectable in a regular 2D mammogram, it is now more visible with this advanced technology.

“3D Mammography has advantages over the traditional 2D and we are excited to bring that advanced care to our patients here at Dallas County Hospital,” said Angela Mortoza, Dallas County Hospital CEO.

The new 3D Mammography system was placed early September. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 515-465-7525.
