The Perry Freedom Center will be hosting a community breakfast on Aug. 18.

The Perry Freedom Center will be hosting a free breakfast for the community to enjoy and learn about Freedom for Youth Ministries. The breakfast will be held from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 1210 2nd St. This event will give the middle and high school students the opportunity to gain soft-job skills through preparing and serving the meal.

The Perry Site Director Diana Yepez said, “[This event] gives the community an opportunity to encourage and empower the students.”

The community will also have an opportunity to contribute through donating during the event. Students have the opportunity to earn a portion of these proceeds.

The students leading the event will greet attendees at the door, and, with the guidance of volunteers, they will prepare and serve a meal of pancakes, fruit, little smokies and coffee.

“[Saturday with Freedom] shows what God is doing in and through the youth at Freedom,” Yepez said.
