The heat and humidity didn't keep area residents from coming out to enjoy the annual Perry Fourth of July celebration. The festivities kicked off with a parade down Willis Avenue.

Check out highlights from the parade. Check out more photos from the July 4 celebration on the Perry Chief website.

Community members then made their way down to Pattee Park where vendors were set up selling food, cold drinks and other areas.

Showtime Dance Studio performed in the Pattee Park Band Shell at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Al Welsh Orchestra.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department turned on a sprinkler near the band shell. The sprinkler was a popular spot as kids ran back and forth through the spray.

Catfish Charlie will perform in the band shell at 6 p.m. The Perry Chamber sponsored fireworks show will wrap up the day's activities at dusk.
