Linda Goldsberry, of Minburn, took top honors at Perry’s Chili Cookoff Sunday, Nov. 12 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2715 Iowa Street.

Goldsberry won with her white chili, made with Fareway’s Wonder Roast chicken breasts. There were several entries, with 35 “tasters” voting for their favorite chili.

Here is the recipe:

2 Wonder Roast chicken breasts

4 cans Busch white chili beans

1 can original Rotel tomatoes

14 oz. chicken broth

1/2 C. chopped onion

Combine in a Crock Pot on high till it comes to a boil, turn down to low, and its ready to eat!

For her efforts, Goldsberry received a certificate and a $50 Picket Fence Creamery gift card.

The cookoff was part of Trinity’s ongoing local mission efforts to bring people from the community together for food and fellowship! Other projects have included the popular Sundaes on Sunday (resumes in May), the Pattee Park worship services, and various other dinners and activities.
