More than $100K in grants awarded to these Dallas County organizations

Special to the Perry Chief

The Dallas County Foundation (DCF) is pleased to announce that $111,085 has been awarded to twenty-one organizations for betterment activities in Dallas County communities. All those receiving funds are charitable organizations with a tax designation of 501(c)3, 5 or 6 or a 170(b) unit of government.

Since 2006 the DCF has awarded over $832,000 to nearly 160 projects in Dallas County. A listing of those funded projects from 2006 to 2015 can be viewed at www.dallascountyfoundation.org.

Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation (GGCGC) began this year to grant funds to county foundations to those counties immediately surrounding Greene County. GGCGC intends to grant funds to these counties every year. DCF received $18,200 in 2016, which was granted to Dallas Center Parks and Recreation Board to assist in building a restroom facility along the Raccoon River Valley Bike Trail that goes through the community.

The next grant cycle will be announced in December of 2016. For more information, please contact Vicki Lage at vickilage@gmail.com. DCF is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines.
