Forcible rape under investigation by PPD

A possible rape is under investigation by the Perry Police Department.

The investigation started following a call police received from a female at about 4 a.m. on Sept. 18.

According to a police report obtained by the Perry Chief, the victim was staying at the caller’s house on the 1700 block of Iowa Street. The caller told police the victim was intoxicated and sleeping on one of her couches.

During the night the caller’s boyfriend heard noises. He saw a male on top of the victim on the couch. The victim was crying.

The report stated the suspect was last seen on Estella.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Dallas County Hospital. Her condition has not been reported to police.

Eric Vaughn, the chief of the Perry Police Department, said the case is under investigation and no charges have been made. The police chief said the police department will release more information as the investigation continues.
