A Perry man was arrested after police found drug paraphernalia and a weapon in his car.

Manual Ochoa, 24, was arrested on Sept. 6 following a traffic stop on 8th and Jones Street.

Eric Vaughn, Perry Police chief, told the Perry Chief that Ochoa did not follow officers commands during the traffic violation stop.

After he was placed under arrest police found a scale and several baggies consistent with drug use, Vaughn said.

Before the car was towed police found a machete within reach of the driver’s seat of the car, he said.

Ochoa is charged with interference with official acts, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying weapons.
