Des Moines— A Bouton boy shows off a steer with a senator.

Jarrett Orman showed in the Governor’s Charity Steer Show at the Iowa State Fair with Senator Joni Ernst.

Orman’s steer, Elivs, was chosen in late July by the Iowa Hereford Association to be in the show.

Together Orman and Ernst won with Showmanship honors.

After the show, all the steers were sold at an auction and the money raised went to the Ronald McDonald Houses of Iowa.

Elvis sold for $6,000.

Prior to the show Orman, his parents Mandi and Jim, his sister Jacey and brother Jenner, volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Des Moines and had lunch with Lt. Govenor Kim Reynolds.

Elvis had a list of accomplishments prior to the show. Those accomplishments were Iowa Beef Expo Champion Hereford Steer, class winner at the Hereford Jr. Nationals in Grand Island, NE and numerous show and res. champions.
