Following Perry’s season wrapping, four Bluejays were voted to the All-Raccoon River Conference team.
Unlike previous years where only performances in RRC games were considered, players’ entire seasons were considered by coaches due to the shortened season.
Keghan West - Sr. (2nd Team / P)
4 starts, 8.67 ERA, 25 K // .371 avg, 13 hits, 4 RBI, 1 triple
West played a major role in keeping games together and finally brought Perry into the win column this season with his 10 strikeout shutout against ACGC. His three-hit performance against Ogden was among his finest moments at the plate. He will continue his playing career in baseball and basketball at Central College.
Avery Meister - Sr. (Honorable Mention / P)
6 starts, 6.48 ERA, 24 K // .375 avg, 11 hits, 6 RBI, 1 double
His second year making the RRC list, Meister couldn’t be denied entry this season considering his 15 K’s against West Central Valley. Meister also had a three-hit performance against Ogden that helped hold a lead through five innings. Meister continues his career at Iowa Central Community College.
Kato Dougan - Sr. (Honorable Mention / INF)
.273 avg, 9 hits, 1 HR, 3 doubles, 13 steals
Also on the list for the second time, Dougan made his mark this season as the team’s leadoff. While West held the team’s lead in batting average, teams were also weary of Dougan getting a hit as he earned 12 free bases to bring his on-base percentage to .467 for the team-high to tie West. He will continue his career as a Yellowjacket at Graceland University.
Caden Steva - So. (Honorable Mention / C)
.235 avg, 8 hits, 3 RBI, 1 triple, .916 fielding %
Steva was the guiding hand for all three of the senior pitchers. The sophomore catcher also ranked third in the conference with three stolen bases thrown out. As a batter, Steva’s finest moment was also against Ogden with a two-hit performance.
