The Perry High School Dance Team, PHS Pulse, will compete at the Iowa State Dance Team Championship on Friday, Dec. 6 in Des Moines.

PHS Pulse will compete in Class X Pom at 8:03 a.m. and Large School Hoopla at 10:18 a.m. in Wells Fargo Arena, as well as Class VI Hip Hop at 6:07 p.m. in Hy-Vee Hall.

Team members include Cindy Truong, Emma Stika, Aubree Tasler, Claire Southward, Evelyn Chavez, Rubi Hernandez, Marielena Ramirez, Leslie Ramos, Beyonce Gonzalez, Jaqueline Cresencio, Natalie Guardado, Kyla Mckenzie, Nubia Torres, Jasmin Gonzalez, Maria Izquierdo, Macie Mosher, Sierra Newton, Lindsey Oblea, Shelby de la Cruz and Sarah Vaughn.

The PHS Pulse Dance Team is coached by Head Coach Faye Southward, Assistant Coach Lyndsey Buhrman, and Volunteer Coach Rachel Rothmeyer.

Twenty-four college teams and 254 high school teams make up the 600 routines that will be performed in the two-day period. Teams earn points for choreography, execution, difficulty and showmanship.

Performers will take the floor at Wells Fargo Arena and Hy-Vee Hall beginning Thursday, Dec. 5 at 8 a.m. and will continue through Friday evening. Entry fee for spectators is $10/person for one day or $18/person for two days.
