Woodward-Granger Baseball added to the winning side of their season record on June 7 after they defeated Woodward Academy in not one, but two competitions consecutively.
Teamwork was clearly a factor in game one as fans saw the Hawks score 14 runs over their opponent. Sophomore Reese Jamison led the team in runs by contributing three to the consistently dominating score.
Senior Cole Theisen helped the victory along with two RBIs while also scoring a run.
Fans also saw Sophomore Jay Dorenkamp pitch all seven innings and come out on top with no runs and eight strikeouts.
The second game of this double header started out very similar to the first with Woodward-Granger scoring three runs. The streak continued as the Hawks beat Woodward Academy 19-0.
An impressive show came yet again from both the younger and older halves of this team. Sophomores Bryce Achenbach, Jack Grell, and Jamison all contributed at least two runs to the winning score.
Another Sophomore, Nate Rosen took the mound for this game and ended it with zero runs and five strikeouts of his own.
Between the two games, Woodward-Granger was able to continue showing the overall strength fans have been seeing all season.
