The Perry Bluejays’ soccer team ended this past Thursday in the first round of the Class 2A state tournament.

It was a close defeat for the 11 win Bluejays team who could hold their heads up high by losing 2-1 versus the number one seeded Pella Dutch.

At the James C. Cownie Soccer Field in Des Moines, the Bluejays did their best to overthrow a Dutch team that only lost two games all season.

Perry junior Sarceno Rivera was the team’s lone goal scorer when he was able to sneak an unassisted shot passed the Dutch’s goalie, junior Sam Warner.

Anthony Aragon, Perry senior, played all 80 minutes of the May 31 contest. He allowed just the two lone goals of the game.
