The Bluejays opened up their season last Thursday, March 29, with a fifth place finish after recording 72 points at their Davis Relays.

A fifth place finish against six other teams is nothing to write home about. However, the squad boasted some impressive finishes.

Three individuals and five team events accounted for a total of 10 top three finishes - five team and five individual.

Kaleb Olejniczak put his legs to work as he garnered two second place victories. He finished with a 54.17 in the 400-meter and a 1:03.16 in the 400 hurdles.

Teammate Tyler Fesser scored second place in the 200-meter dash with a 24.26. He placed third in the 400-meter with a 55:45. Kato Dougan was fourth. Brandon Kenyon also notched a second place win when he ran a 2:11.86 in the 800-meter run.

Both the 4x400 and distance teams dominated their respective events as each team took the top spot. The 4x400 team ran a 3:44.78 while the distance squad clocked in a 4:08.85.

Two second place finishes belonged to the 4x100 and 4x200 teams. The former finished with a time of 48.53 while the latter posted a 1:48.82. With a time of 10:32.94, the 4x800 team placed third.
