The Perry Jayettes (2-11, 0-6) felt the rumble of an offensive stampede by the Boone Toreadors (11-1, 6-0) in Tuesday night’s 63-30 Raccoon River Conference loss.
At Perry on Jan. 9, the RRC basketball matchup saw the Jayettes get off to a slow start finishing with just two points in the first while the Toreadors scored nine.
The seven-point deficit didn’t mean the end for the Jayettes who dusted themselves off and put up 11 points in the second but saw the lead extended to 12 after allowing 16 points.
In the third quarter, once again the home team put up double digits with 14 but were outscored again by five points after the road team scored 19.
The game finally got away from them in the fourth as they were outscored by 13 after the Toreadors finished with a 19-3 run.
Up next the Jayettes hit the road in search of their first RRC win when they travel to Bondurant-Farrar for a matchup versus the Lady Jays.
