Larry Dolan, 67, of Bouton died on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Memorial services were held Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Perry.

A Vigil service was held Feb. 25 at Carris Family Funeral Home.

Burial took place in the Beaver Catholic Cemetery.

Larry David Dolan was born on July 28, 1946, at Omaha, Neb., to John Gerald and Ila June (Smith) Dolan.

He graduated from Central Dallas High School in 1964.

He was united in marriage to Jean Ernst on July 16, 1977, at Chicago, Ill.

Larry worked for 20 years with Dallas County Secondary Roads Department. After retirement he became an owner operator for two years.

Larry was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Perry.

He enjoyed driving his truck and always made sure that he was tuned in to listen to Paul Harvey.

He also liked working on motorcycles and helping farmers when needed.

When he was relaxing, he would watch mysteries and forensic shows on TV.

He loved being involved with his children and grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ila Dolan, and a brother, Joe Dolan.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Dolan of Bouton; children, Paula Oxenford of Des Moines, Jeffrey (Cindy) Dolan of Eldora, Mike (Karen) Free of Polk City, Brian (Laura) Dolan of Hubbard, Matt (Sherry) Free of Boone and Jessica (Eric) Daniels of Bouton; grandchildren, Patience and Paige Oxenford, Haley Free and AJ Free, Tyler, Mason and Kyle Free, Caelan Daniels, Daniel and Katie Dolan; great grandson, Cody Custer; and brothers, Jim (Christy) Dolan of Bartlett, Ill., and Vince (Kathy) Dolan of Moravia.

Memorials may be given to family, and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 8033 University Blvd., Clive, IA 50325 or may be left at the Funeral Home.
