Judy Rae Carr-Zack, 62, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at her home in Maryville, TN.

Judy was born on June 24, 1956 and raised in Perry, Iowa. Judy loved a good joke, and her belly laugh echoed through any room she was in. Judy lived in several places throughout her life, including Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, and even Germany, but Judy loved her life in the Smoky Mountains the most. The beauty of the mountains cheered her up and gave her peace in her heart. She loved to go for a drive through the mountains with her husband. Judy also loved cooking and baking, and her favorite meal was Brett’s biscuits. Most of all, though, Judy loved her family and friends. She reminds us all that God never promises another minute, so always take the time to say, “I love you.”

Judy is survived by her husband Robert “Brett” Hackney, Maryville, Tennessee; brother, Rick Carr, sister, Deb and Dale West, and many nieces and grand-nieces and nephews and grand-nephews. Judy is preceded in death by parents Leo and LaVonne Carr; brother, Gary Carr; sister, Connie Jackson; and husband Steve Zack.

In death, just as in life, Judy wanted to help others, and arranged for her body to be donated to science. Memorials or memories can be sent to Robert Hackney, 1424 Everett Ave., Maryville, TN, and will be shared with Judy’s family. Services will be held at a later date in Tennessee.
