The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has announced a funding program for park and recreation professional who want to attend the NRPA Green School, a two-year training program on promoting environmental responsibility, leading green initiatives and advocating for environmental responsibility and conservation stewardship.

With support from the Toro Company, the NRPA Green School is offering a limited number of $500 scholarships to first-year applicants to use toward school expenses, including tuition and room and board.

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to environmental conservation and stewardship, leadership skills and the need for financial assistance.

Applicants should apply by Feb. 14 and will be notified no later than Feb. 28.

The next Green School will take place March 23-27 at the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, W. Va.
