Perry Elks Lodge No. 407 recently donated $500 to the Perry Police Department Shop with a Cop program.

Loyal Knight Amber Green said giving to the community is a huge part of what the Elks do and helping out at Christmas is even more meaningful.

“Christmas is a holiday unlike any other in so many ways. The spirit of giving is often countered with insurmountable worry by many within our community,” Green explained. “This unique and wonderful program allows our men and woman in uniform to help lighten the worry of parents while simultaneously sparking pure joy and that is why we as Elks, believe so wholeheartedly in this program.”

Perry Elks Lodge, according to information obtained from the national Elks organization, has donated or given back to the Perry community over $3.9 million dollars since 1898 when the lodge was formed. For the 2019-2020 lodge year, they have donated $11,000 in different projects, including the Shop with a Cop program.
