Join the Sesquicentennial Planning Committee on Thursday, May 2 at La Poste for a FUN night of Perry Trivia! Registration is at 6:15 p.m. The cost is $10/person, with teams of up to 8 people. All proceeds support the Sesquicentennial Celebration in July. Sign up at the Perry Public Library or the Perry Chamber of Commerce office by Wednesday, May 1 to select a category. All-you-can-eat sausage, ham, eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, toast, coffee, milk and orange juice will be served on May 4 at the Bouton Community Center. Adults are $7 and kids 5-12 are $5. Under five are free. Bake sale items will also be available.

Toddler Fest is sponsored by 4RKids and the Dallas County Library Association, and its purpose is to promote free services and activities for young children and families in our county. This is a fun event for kids, who can enjoy face-painting, crafts and activities, movie character appearances, a fire truck, farm animals and more. Each toddler will also receive a free book.

The DMACC VanKirk Career Academy will host a STEM Festival on May 4. Bring the whole family and learn more about the STEM field. There will be many activities, inflatables and fun.
Spring River Paddling and Birding Float
1-5 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at Raccoon River, Redfield Dam to Pleasant Valley.
Kickoff your spring paddling season with DCCB. Our floats strive to introduce you to the waters of the three Raccoon Rivers that traverse our county and to introduce you to a new contact point in the wilds of Dallas County. The wild contact will be the BIRDS as we link this float with the Big Year Birding Challenge. Registration is required. Call 515-465-3577.
Bernie Sanders Town Hall Meeting
3 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at McCreary Community Building.
U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders returns to Iowa this weekend with stops in Ames, Perry Fort Dodge, and Sioux City. The Perry town hall meeting is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged, at https://act.berniesanders.com/signup/event-190404-perry/. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Entrance is provided on a first come, first served basis.
