Here’s a look at area Easter activities in Perry and around Dallas County.
Perry Fire and Rescue’s Easter biscuits and gravy breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Perry Fire Department, 908 Willis Ave. A free-will donation will be taken. The event will also feature an Easter egg hunt and kid activities.
Support the Relay for Life of Dallas County this Easter through the Egg My House fundraiser. Order your candy-filled plastic eggs to be delivered to your yard and ready for Easter morning fun. The cost is $20 for 40 eggs, $40 for 80 eggs and $60 for 120 eggs. All proceeds will benefit American Cancer Society - Relay for Life of Dallas County. Eggs can be delivered on Friday, April 19 for you to hide yourself. Eggs can also be delivered and hidden after dark on Saturday, April 20. The deadline to order eggs is Monday, April 15. The Perry Parks and Recreation Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 20 at Wiese Park. The Easter Bunny will visit with children at 10 a.m., with the Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30 a.m. This event is for children ages 2 through 8. This event is free to all families and offers free candy and prizes donated by local businesses!
Join the Minburn Public Library for the Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Rogers Park. The event will feature separated age groups, non candy treats as well as sweets, and a visit from a special furry friend.
The Woodward Friends and Neighbors presents Egg My House on Sunday, April 21. Your children will wake up on Easter morning to a yard covered in plastic Easter eggs filled with candy! We will be taking orders through April 14 and accept cash or check.
The Adel Kiwanis Club will hold the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 at Kinnick-Feller Riverside Park. The event will feature the Easter Bunny, prizes, fire truck, police car, garbage truck, face painting and more. Ages 0-3 can hunt at 3 p.m., followed by ages 4-6 at 3:30 and ages 7-10 at 4. Please bring non-perishable food ideas for the Adel Food Pantry.
Restoration Harmony is partnering with the Adel Kiwanis Club to bring more Easter fun on April 14. Stop in before or after your kids hunt for eggs with the Kiwanis for a free string art project at Restoration Harmony, 1015 Riverside Drive. Enjoy food by Snappy’s BBQ and drinks while your kids create fun easter string art projects with Heartland Handcrafted. Spaces for the string art project is limited. Sign up to reserve your spot online or sign up at Restoration Harmony when you arrive at the park.
The Dallas Center Fun Committee will hold the annual Easter event on Saturday, April 20. The event will start off with the Rotary’s pancake breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Memorial Hall. The cost is $6 for adults and $5 for children. The Egg Hunt begins at 10 a.m. in front of the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library (this is a change in location from previous years) with the Boy Scout Wranglers. The free hunt will be broken into three age groups, 0-5, 4-6, 7 and up. The event will also include crafts, games, face painting, photos with the Easter bunny and more.
Come join the De Soto Fire Department for our annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Little Bridge Park.
Adults are invited to Easter Egg Hunt at the De Soto Public Library. Stop by the library anytime from April 15-20 to find your own egg and win candy, gift cards or your very own chocolate bunny. Ages 14 and up can participate.
The Grimes Easter Eggstravaganza, hosted by Grimes Kiwanis and Grimes Community Complex, will return from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the Grimes Community Complex. The Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 10:40 a.m. The event will feature games, face painting, a balloon artist, coloring contest and prizes.
Lutheran Church of Hope Grimes will also be hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the church. The event will feature an egg hunt, Bingo and a photo booth.
Let the Van Meter Library “egg” your house. Your children will wake up on Easter morning, April 21, to candy filled eggs in the front yard. The cost is $20 per dozen. The Van Meter Park and Rec Board is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt for kids 10 and under at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 in Johnson Park, off Hazel Street on SW edge of the city. The Easter bunny will also be visiting during the hunt.
The Waukee Family YMCA is hosting a Family Easter Celebration from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the YMCA, 210 N Warrior Lane. Join us for a fun-filled afternoon with the whole family! We will kick off the day with crafts, activities, games and popcorn in our lobby from 12-2 p.m. Later, enjoy the tradition of Easter egg hunting, but with a twist! Hop into our pool and collect as many eggs as you can. Eggs will be both floating and underwater. Ages 5 and under can hunt with parent supervision from 2-2:20 p.m. Kids ages 6-9 can hunt from 2:30-2:50 p.m. and ages 10 and up can hunt from 3-3:20 p.m. After the egg hunt, stay in our pool for our Flick n’ Float event featuring Peter Rabbit from 3:30-5 p.m.
