The Perry Rotary Club is planning its biggest fundraiser of the year. The 17th annual Charity Auction will return on Friday, Nov. 16 at La Poste.
A social hour with cash bar and silent auction will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m., followed by the live auction at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the auction are $25 and include dinner and two drink tickets.
Rotary President David Finneseth said club members go around to local businesses, organizations and individuals to ask for donations for the silent and live auctions.
One new addition, Finneseth said, is that the junior class is helping out with the auction this year. Class members are helping to sell tickets. They will also be donating a few items, Finneseth said, with those proceeds going back to the junior class.
“Hopefully it’s something we can continue on with. Just trying to involve more of the community,” he said.
He encourages the public to purchase tickets to attend the auction on Nov. 16. Proceeds from the auction will help the Perry Rotary Club with various donations and projects around Perry.
A few of those past donations and projects include college scholarships, dictionaries for fourth grade students, highway cleanup, Operation Warm Coat, sending care packages overseas and more.
“It’s always a fun evening of gathering, getting to talk to people. And getting to raise the funds for the year for our donations we provide to the community,” Finneseth said.
Those looking to purchase tickets for the auction should contact any Rotary member or Finneseth at 515-465-2005 by Friday, Nov. 9.
