Here’s a look at the local Halloween activities happening around the area.
Saturday, Oct. 27 - We are throwing a Kids Halloween Party from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 27 at your local Hy-Vee. Enoy a variety of activities, including coloring, cookie decorating and mini pumpkin decorating.
Monday, Oct. 29 - Families are invited to a harvest party from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 at the Perry Public Library where we will focus on pumpkins and fall leaves. Crafts, games and a snack will be included in this free event.
Tuesday, Oct. 30 - The Perry City Council has designated Oct. 30 from 6 - 8 p.m. as “Trick or Treat Night” or “Beggars’ Night.” Please turn your porch lights on if you are handing out treats and please drive safely.
From 5-6:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 enjoy a Safe and Healthy Halloween at Dallas County Hospital. Bring the kids and enjoy a fun and safe night of trick-or-treating.
The Annual Trick or Treat SPOOK-tacular will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 30 in historic downtown Perry. The event will be a fun Halloween celebration which will include safe trick-or-treating with local businesses and community organizations.
McDonald’s will have Grimace and Hamburglar from 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 30. We will be passing out 250 goodie bags as well.
Pearl Valley Rehabilitation will be hosting trick-or-treating from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 30 with candy and refreshments.
Rowley Masonic Community, 1300 28th St., will be hosting a Halloween event from 6-7:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 with a haunted house, games, cotton candy and trick-or-treating. Please enter through the Assisted Living facility on 28th Street and look for signs.
The Perry Fire Association’s Haunted Barn will be held on Oct. 26, 27 and 30, beginning at 7 p.m. each night. The cost is $5 per person. The Haunted Barn is located in the Perry Marketplace at the corner of 1st Street and Willis Avenue.
Wednesday, Oct. 31 - Trick-or-treating will be held from 6-8 on Oct. 31.
Minburn Public Library’s 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Decorating your trunks is encouraged, but not required. There will be a contest for the ‘best decorated trunk.’ This will take place on Baker Street between Chestnut and Walnut. That portion of the street will be closed. Set up begins at 5 p.m. Candy, games, fun.
Tuesday, Oct. 30 - Beggars’ Night will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 30.
Stop in to the Social Center from 6-8 p.m. on Beggars’ Night for hot dogs, chips, warm drinks and free books for the kids. A service to the community by your Woodward Lions Club.
