Perry Lutheran Homes has selected Blue Stone Therapy Solutions to provide expanded rehabilitation and therapy programs with a focus on innovation and personalization to increase rate of rehabilitation success.
Perry Lutheran Homes, care provider for patients recuperating from surgery, illness, or hospitalization, recently partnered with Blue Stone Therapy Solutions. This partnership allows Perry Lutheran Homes to offer expanded Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy hours and specialized rehabilitation programs for seniors to promote strength, independence and the best possible quality of life.
Local Perry resident and recent short-term rehabilitative therapy resident, Zak Ibrahim, shares his experience, “It has been beyond my expectations. I came here [from the hospital]. I couldn’t walk; I couldn’t talk. And within a week of the nursing and nourishing me with all the help I needed, I gained my health and am beginning to be an independent again.”
Ibrahim is just one of the many success stories that can be told of Perry Lutheran Homes’ rehabilitative therapy program.
“As a leader in utilizing innovation and personalization, Perry Lutheran Homes wanted to bring these same elements to enhance our therapy program to increase rehabilitative therapy success,” said Melissa Gannon, Chief Operating Officer at Perry Lutheran Homes. “After researching many possible partners, Blue Stone Therapy solutions was the right fit for our residents and way of care. They have already developed a customized program for our Memory Care residents unlike anything here in Iowa. Our therapists are also using cutting-edge technology called IN2L (It’s Never 2 Late) to work with our speech therapy program to improve cognition. Using innovation and personalization helps take rehabilitative therapy to the next level providing better outcomes instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach.”
In addition to rehabilitative therapy, Perry Lutheran Homes Skilled Nursing and Memory Care communities at Willis Campus also offer a wide range of care services that include dietary services, restorative therapy and recreational activities designed to improve the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of their residents that include mission projects, weekly bible study and worship and engaging with the children from Acorns & Oaks intergenerational daycare. Residents not only come to rehabilitate at Perry Lutheran Homes, but to also enjoy their time while doing so. In addition, Perry Lutheran Homes Spring Valley Campus offers Independent and Assisted Living services.
“We are proud to serve Perry Lutheran Homes and help the Perry community build strength to enhance lives,” said Doug Johnson, President of Blue Stone Therapy Solutions. “Perry Lutheran Homes has a tradition of innovating patient care and their leadership team really focuses on improving the quality of life for residents. Our therapy team has made a positive impact within the first 90 days while increasing patient function by 25 percent. Patients are responding well to their individualized rehabilitation programs, regaining independence, and recovering faster.”
“Our team is always looking for innovative and unique ways to provide exceptional resident care. We saw an opportunity to provide new rehab programs for patients recovering from most surgeries. Blue Stone is currently developing new programs for our Independent and Assisted Living residents to help sustain their independence. Our team of therapists have really done a great job, and we look forward to providing the best patient care in Perry together,” Max Phillips, CEO of Perry Lutheran Homes.
