There are visible signs of progress along 1st Avenue and 2nd Street in Perry.
A brightly-colored mural was recently painted along the alley wall of the new ice cream shop, Frio.
Local residents got the chance to sample Blue Bunny ice cream on Thursday, Aug. 2 during the Perry Farmers Market. The shop, located at 1114 First Ave., is tentatively set to open in two weeks, Aaron Lenz said.
Progress could also be seen as the awning above the former Stitches in Time building came down on Aug. 2. Work continued on the front of the upcoming restaurant on Aug. 3.
Owner JR Sheffer said in an earlier interview that the new restaurant is on track to open in late fall.
