Fareway presented a check to the Perry Chamber of Commerce from the recent Grocery Bill Round Up promotion.

Customers at both Fareway and Hy-Vee could round-up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar or more from May 21-28, with all proceeds going to the Fourth of July fireworks drive.

A total of 4,295 transactions were rounded up throughout the week at Fareway, averaging $0.56 and totaling $2,400.

Store Manager Travis Landgrebe said three Fareway gift cards were also handed out to the top three cashiers during the round-up fundraiser. Cashier Karelly Marquez had the most dollars rounded up in the amount of $358.48.

“This is the third year we’ve done it and we’ve gotten better every year,” Landgrebe said of the round-up fundraiser for the fireworks drive.

Last year’s round-up for the fireworks drive at Fareway brought in $1,503.52.
