CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Dec. 22, 2017 – Five area nonprofit organizations are receiving community grants totaling $16,500 from the Alliant Energy Foundation in the second of its two 2017 giving cycles.

“We are proud to support these organizations that are doing such valuable work in our communities,” said Julie Bauer, Executive Director of the Alliant Energy Foundation. “Our investments support their crucial activities in the areas of Helping Families, Education and the Environment.”

Earning grants are:· FRC Team Neutrino 4-H, Ames, $1,500 for Team Neutrino 2018 Season· Iowa Public Television Foundation, Des Moines, $5,000 for Iowa Outdoors· Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation, Des Moines, $2,500 for My Family’s Wind Farm· Iowa JAG, Des Moines , $5,000 for iJAG: Transforming At-Risk Students into Future-Ready Graduates· Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity, Perry, $2,500 for New Construction House

These grants are among 117 the Foundation awarded this grant cycle, totaling over $303,000.

The Alliant Energy Foundation is a philanthropic organization created by Alliant Energy Corporation and is operated as a separate entity led by its own board of directors. The Foundation is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where Alliant Energy employees, retirees and customers live and work.
