GRANGER — The Woodward-Granger baseball team will play on their own diamond for as long as they can advance in district play the team learned recently.

The Hawks will host Guthrie Center at 7 p.m. on July 16 in a Class 1A District 12 Quarterfinal, with Earlham to play Adair-Casey at 5 p.m. in the opening game of the twinbill.

The winners will meet, in Granger, July 18 at 7 p.m., with the D12 Final set for July 20 in Granger at 7 p.m., with SE Webster, Woodward Academy, Van Meter, Prairie Valley and Madrid the teams on the upper half of the bracket.

The Substate 6 Final will be played July 23 at 7 p.m. in Marshalltown between the D11 and D12 champions, with the victor earning the right to advance to the state tournament.

BGM, HLV, Colo-NESCO, Belle Plaine, Iowa Valley, Meskwaki Settlement School, North Tama and GMG are the teams vying for the D11 crown.
