Roland-Story topped Woodward-Granger to claim the title at the Perry Tournament Tuesday.

The Norsemen won the first game of the title match, 25-22, with the Hawks rallying for a 25-20 win in game two. Roland-Story grabbed first place at the tournament with a 15-10 win the third and deciding game of the title match.

Perry began pool play with a 21-14, 21-13 win over Saydel, with W-G topping Saydel, 21-9, 21-13. The Hawks defeated the Jayettes, 21-14, 21-15 in their pool play bout, with Perry falling to Fort Dodge, 25-18, 25-17, in the third place match. Ballard placed fifth after defeating Saydel (scores n/a).

Perry (6-23) received a combined 13 kills and two blocks from Claire Marburger, with Julie Diw and Maggie Lowe providing six kills apiece. Lowe tallied 20 assists, with Diw and Grace Marburger making six digs apiece.

Victoria Hegstrom was 24-of-29 serving with eight aces for the hosts, with Katelyn Whelchel 22-23-6 and Claire Marburger 15-16-1 behind the line.

W-G was strong at the net during their run at the tourney, with Abby Hansen and Olivia McCune making five blocks apiece while Mary Hansen added four blocks, Dalaney Bice three blocks and Bree Lesch one.

Abby Musser finished with 22 kills while Abby Hansen and McCune had 12 kills apiece. Mary Hansen had seven kills and Lesch four, with Maggie Bermel providing 26 assists and Mary Hansen 24.

Musser led the team with 18 digs, with Lesch contributing 11 digs, Tori Manning eight, Bermel six and McCune five.

The Hawks (17-14) were led in serving by Manning (24-25-4) and Lesch (23-25-3). McCune was 20-20-1, Bermel 17-19-4 and Mary Hansen 14-17-3 behind the line, with Musser 9-14-4 and Rachel Spinler 14-15-1.

Perry will wrap their regular season by playing in the Knoxville Invitational Saturday before hosting Greene County Monday and visiting Boone Oct. 24 while W-G ends their regular season with the Hawk Invitational Saturday.
