LEFT — Former Perry standout athlete Sam Stetzel recently completed a stellar collegiate baseball career for Central College.

Stetzel was the Most Valuable Player for the Dutch each of the last two seasons and was a Second Team All-IIAC selection in 2011 and 2013 and a First Team All-IIAC pick in 2012, the most All-IIAC honors earned by a Dutch player in the 10-year tenure of head coach Adam Stevens.

His junior year saw Stetzel earn Third Team D3baseball.com All-Central Region honors. He was the 2012 Offensive Player of the Year for the Dutch and in 2011 the Defensive Player of the Year.

In his four-year career the Dutch won 100 games, making the 2013 seniors the class with the most wins in school history.

The son of Doug and Martha of Perry, Stetzel earned a degree in Business Management.
