IRVING, TX — Fifteen members of the Iowa State Football team have been named to the 2013 Academic All-Big 12 Conference teams, announced today by the Big 12 Conference.

Perry’s Kane Seeley, a redshirt freshman linebacker, made the team for the first time. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.

Senior Kyle Lichtenberg made a Big 12 Academic All-Big 12 team for the fourth time in his career and senior Wes Boyer earned academic All-Big 12 honors for the third time.

Iowa State players joining the first team for the first time are Daniel Burton, Jacob Gannon, Luke Knott, Jamison Lalk, Mitchell Meyers and Jeff Woody.

Student athletes received first-team recognition by maintaining a 3.20 or higher GPA.

Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and met all the criteria except percent of participation are considered eligible.
