Seniors Hailee Dencklau, Shaleah Ewing, Shannon Hellyer and Taylor Wieland swam in the final home meet of their prep careers when Perry hosted Algona and Carroll for a double-dual swim meet at the MCB pool Monday.
Perry topped Algona, 49-45, but fell to Carroll, 57-34. Carroll swept the event by besting Algona, 63-31.
Haileigh Kenyon sped to wins over both Carroll and Algona in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, touching in 27.44 seconds and 1 minute, 1.16 seconds, respectively.
Ewing was second to Carroll and first against Algona in the 100 butterfly in 1:13.01, with Ewing 2/1 and Haley Vaughn 3/2 in the 200 individual medley in 2:33.73 and 2:39.34 while Dencklau placed 3/2 in the 200 free in 2:28.82. Dencklau and Vaughn each had personal best efforts in the aforementioned events.
Wieland had a 3/1 effort of 1:25.12 in the 100 breaststroke, with Lourdes Marquez third against both opponents in the 100 backstroke with a clocking of 1:33.25. The duo also swam in the 500 free, with Wieland 3/1 in 6:34.82 while Marquez was second against Algona in 7:35.54.
Perry began the meet by besting both foes in the 200 medley relay as Ewing, Wieland, Kenyon and Vaughn teamed to finish in 2:12.28.
Ewing, Dencklau, Vaughn and Kenyon cut two seconds off their season-best in the 200 free relay by finishing in 1:57.69, a time which topped both opposing teams.
Perry capped the meet with a 2/2 finish in the 400 free relay, with Vaughn, Marquez, Dencklau and Wieland clocking in at 4:45.07.
The Jayettes will now prepare for their regional meet in Fort Dodge Nov. 2.
